Salat Textbooks

As we begin the Fiqh trimester of the school year, students will begin to focus on the practical aspects of salat.

Last year, all 3rd through 10th graders received a Salat Textbook, to keep in their possession for the entirety of their time at Jafaria School through graduation.

All returning students who are in 4th through 10th grade this year are expected to bring your copies of the textbook with them to class every week during he Fiqh trimester.

All students in the 3rd grade, as well as all brand-new students who have joined us this year, will receive copies within the next few weeks.

What if I have misplaced my copy of the Salat Textbook?

If you have misplaced your copy of the textbook, there is a $20 replacement fee to purchase a new one. Please submit your request for a new textbook online using the Textbook Order Form. To remit your payment, you may write a check payable to Jafaria School.

Is the Salat Textbook available online?

You may also download a PDF copy online for free from the Online Textbooks section of our website.

Lost and Found

Have you ever left Jafaria School in a hurry, only to realize when you have reached home, that your child has left something behind at school?

Effective next week, Jafaria School will have its very own Lost and Found bin.

Our school administration staff, in cooperation with the Masjid-e-Ali facilities team, will do a walk-through of the school every Sunday after all students have cleared out.

And if they find any loose articles left behind in any of the common areas of the building, they will be tagged and put it in the Lost and Found bin.

Any items not claimed within 4 weeks will be donated.

Feeling Under The Weather?

If your child is sick, the best course of action is to stay home and rest. Simply fill out our online Absence Reporting Form to notify your child’s teacher of their absence.

Your teacher will reach out to you to let you know what lesson plan was covered and what is the homework for the following week.

Staying home not only allows your child to recuperate more quickly, but also helps to curb the spread of any communicable illnesses.

What if my child gets sick in school?

If your child is found to be ill during class, they may be sent to the office where they will meet with our School Nurse. If your child is unwell to remain in class, the school administration may contact parents to come pick up their children early.

Quran Surah Memorization: An Essential Goal For Students’ Self-Actualization and Spiritual Development

Memorization of various surahs of the Holy Quran is one of the learning objectives for each student at Jafaria School .

Each grade level is assigned a number of surahs to memorize in Arabic, to memorize in English, and to learn to be able to recite with proper pronunciation in Arabic.

As students progress through each grade level, the number of surahs they must memorize increases.

Quran Teachers will be incorporating the memorization of these surahs into this year’s lesson plans.

The list of surahs for each grade can be found here:

Quran Surah Memorization List

Punctuality Leads To Productivity: Don’t Be Late!

The doors to the building will be LOCKED at exactly 10:30AM every Sunday.

Any students who arrive past 10:30AM must buzz in at the main entrance, and must be escorted by a parent to the main office, where they must be signed in, in order to get a late pass.

The student will be marked as late. Their tardiness will be kept as part of their permanent student record. An excessive number of late arrivals will merit a discussion with the parents to address the issue.

How do you avoid going through this inconvenience? Plan your commute to Jafaria School so that you have ample time to arrive early and get settled in.
